Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026
Our games have no accounts and no back-end. Your progress stays on your device — we couldn't read it if we wanted to. The only data that ever leaves your device goes to Apple (purchases, Game Center, iCloud sync) or, in free versions, to an advertising network to serve ads.
1. Who we are
Carré is a trade name of 1596505 B.C. Ltd., a company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"). This policy covers this website (playcarre.com) and our iOS games — Partitions, Domidoku, Kiosque, and Partypicker (the "Apps"). You can reach us at hello@playcarre.com.
2. This website
playcarre.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and has no accounts or forms. Two third parties are involved in serving it:
- Vercel hosts the site and, like any host, processes standard server logs (IP address, user agent) to deliver pages and protect the service.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces; your browser requests them from Google's servers, which see your IP address and user agent.
3. What our Apps store
Game data — progress, completed puzzles, best times, streaks, hint balances, settings, and mid-game saves — is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us. We do not operate servers and cannot see it.
If you are signed into iCloud, some Apps sync a small progress summary through Apple's iCloud key-value storage so your progress follows you between your own devices. That copy lives in your personal iCloud account, is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms, and is not visible to us.
Deleting an App (or using its in-app reset option) erases its local data.
4. In-app purchases & subscriptions
Purchases (for example, ad removal, hint packs, or a subscription) are processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. Apple shares only a transaction receipt with the App so it can grant the entitlement on your device. We never see your name, email, payment card, billing address, or any other purchase detail. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled through your App Store account settings; previous purchases can be restored from within each App.
5. Advertising (free versions only)
Unless you have removed ads via purchase or subscription, free versions of our Apps may display ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect or access:
- your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt;
- coarse, non-precise location derived from your IP address;
- information about the ads you see and interact with;
- standard device characteristics (model, iOS version, language).
AdMob uses this data to deliver, measure, and — only if you have consented — personalise advertising. Google's privacy policy applies to that processing: policies.google.com/privacy.
In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent before requesting personalised ads. You can review or change your choice at any time via the App's settings ("Ad privacy options").
6. Tracking permission
Where an App shows ads, iOS will ask whether the App may track you across other companies' apps and websites. This is a system prompt controlled by Apple. If you allow it, AdMob may use your IDFA for personalised ads; if you deny it, ads still appear but are non-personalised. You can change your answer any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
7. Game Center
Apps with leaderboards, streak comparisons, or play-with-friends features use Apple's Game Center. Your Game Center nickname, avatar, and friend connections are created, stored, and processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy — not by us. You can disable Game Center for any App in iOS Settings.
8. App-specific notes
Partitions
A single-player puzzle game. Progress is stored on device. No accounts, no back-end. Free versions may show ads (section 5); purchases are handled by Apple (section 4).
Domidoku
A single-player puzzle game. Progress is stored on device, with an optional iCloud progress summary (section 3). Free versions show AdMob ads (section 5); the ad-removal purchase and hint packs are handled by Apple (section 4).
Kiosque
A daily puzzle collection. Progress and streaks are stored on device. Leaderboards and playing with friends use Game Center (section 7). The optional subscription — which removes ads and unlocks the archive — is handled by Apple (section 4). Free versions may show ads (section 5).
Partypicker
In development. Preferences are stored on device; the general sections of this policy apply. Any app-specific details will be added here before release.
9. Children
Our Apps are suitable for general audiences but are not specifically directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — indeed, we do not collect personal information at all. If you are a parent or guardian with a concern, contact us at hello@playcarre.com.
10. Data retention
We retain nothing, because nothing reaches us. Local data persists until you delete it or uninstall the App. Data processed by Apple or Google is retained under their respective policies.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example Canada under PIPEDA, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your personal data. Because we hold none of it, these rights are exercised directly:
- Local data: use the App's reset option, or uninstall it.
- Ad personalisation: revoke tracking in iOS Settings and revisit the in-app ad privacy options.
- Apple data (purchases, Game Center, iCloud): contact Apple or manage it in your Apple Account settings.
- AdMob processing: see Google's privacy controls, linked in section 5.
For anything else, write to hello@playcarre.com.
12. International users
Our Apps are distributed worldwide through Apple's App Store. Device-level data handled by Google AdMob may be processed in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Apple processes purchases and identifiers under its own published policies.
13. Security
Since no personal data flows through us, the primary security boundary is iOS itself, which sandboxes each App using standard platform protections. Apple's StoreKit and App Tracking Transparency frameworks safeguard payments and identifier access. We store no passwords, payment data, or sensitive personal information at any point.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be noted in App release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
15. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints: hello@playcarre.com. We respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
